St Andrews Scorpions 22/11/14

Two things that can be taken for granted as you have an away day at St Andrews, you will receive a warm welcome from the Scorpions, and you will inevitably take a wrong turning to find Madras College!!

The four games provided lots of skill and great play from both sides, and even produced a smashed window, abley cleaned up by John Cochrane .

The Scorpions proved too strong for the Eagles in the first match of the day.  The Eagles started well and Adam Thomson scored to go pave the Eagles an early lead, but it was short lived, as the Scorpions then manage to score 11 unanswered, in a very fast and skilful game.

Some great net minding from Ryan Kenny earned him the MOM, and a mention must go to Scott Beattie from the Scorpions, for the smashed window!!!

The second game of the day saw an Eagles side made up exclusively of under 10s with the exception of new boy Andrew Cochrane.

Goals from Aiden Paterson and Conor Gilroy in the first period, and Luke Anderson and Aiden Paterson in the third kept the young Eagles side in the game.

But the bigger stronger Scorpions side ran out convincing winners.

In the tightest most well matched game of the day, the Eagles 14s came through against the Scorpions

Three goals from Sam Sheppard, two each from Kobe Barber and Adam Thompson made sure the Eagles won the game.

Chloe Rees in goal proved hard to beat and deserved her MOM award or Dame of the Game!!

The last game of the day saw the 10s run out with a convincing win against a young Scorpions side.

Top scorer for the Eagles was Aiden Paterson with 5, one ahead of Luke Anderson with 4 and the other scorer was MOM Anothai Craig.

The iron work came to the Scorpions rescue on several occasions but some good play, and even a short handed goal, saw the youngsters see the game out as winners

Well done Eagles and Scorpions!
